With BMW's taking over, the whole school changed, and the tradition followed by the school for ages was changed. After 125 years of clerical leadership, the school became in the hands of lay men and women from the Mission.
First the BMW looked for an Arab administrator or
principal, and they found one. However, the new administration didn't meet all the
requirements and duties the BMW required, therefore they decided to find a German
principal for Talitha; for an Arab administration proved itself still not mature enough to
be installed then.
The first German principal of Talitha was
Jurgen Bohne from Nürenberg. He had a lot of plans concerning enlarging or
expanding the school, which he executed some time later.
After four years of being the principal of Talitha he returned home in
1981. In Mr. Jurgen Bohne last year, the scholastic year 1980/1981, the school accepted
boys for the first time, and they engaged in the practice of co-education of boys and
girls.
With the help of the BMW, new
classrooms and a Sports hall were inaugurated in 1983.
