The Boarding Section is one of the main sections of Talitha Kumi Institution and it consists of six groups each supervised by a group mother.
In this scholastic year of 2004, about 50 girls joined this section from age 6-18. These girls are distributed in four groups and each group contains 10-12 girls. The girls from the 1st class up to the 7th live in two groups, those from the 8th class up to the 11th live in the two groups whereas the girls of the 12th class (The Tawjihi) live in the last remaining group.
The girls who live in the Boarding Section come from different places of Palestine. Their main aim is to receive education in a fine and high level institution. In addition, some parents find the Boarding Section the right place for their daughters to live in. Under the perfect care, where they find better conditions of life especially if they have problems at home such as economic and social problems or lack of space at home, or not having an education chance where they live or any kind of other family problems.
There are group mothers who take care of the girls and try their best to advise and help them in their study which affects them during their growing physically, psychologically, socially, educationally and academically.
These girls live in this house which is considered their second home in a nice atmosphere full of love and cooperation , which gives them a special feeling of being related to their school.
In their leisure time the girls do several activities some of them are done in
the boarding
section, whereas the others are done within the activities of the school such as acting,
folklore dancing and hand works.
This section also has a small library that contains different books to help the
girls in extending their information, widening their knowledge and writing researches,
besides having the opportunity to watch T.V programs, and using the computers.
Lastly, they have the time to listen to the Bible as an important part of their daily life- they have a devotion every evening.
